Our HistoryIt all started back in January 1997 when the Executive Director of the Technology Access Foundation (TAF) developed a donor tracking system using Microsoft Access. It was really just a simple way to track donors and grantors, then more features were added each year as the organization grew. With the appearance of ASP.NET on the web development scene, and the growth of the organization, the system was ported to a web-based application in 2001 by TAF's Executive Director along with two teens from TAFs Technical Teens Internship Program. After talking to and working with many nonprofits and discovering that smaller nonprofits can't afford to purchase expensive donor tracking systems, the Nonprofit Information Systems company was formed. Our goal is to provide relevant, quality features at a reasonable price, so small and medium nonprofits can track their resources more efficiently. This system has served us well, so we want to share it with others. We're all trying to help our respective communites and we need to do it in the best way possible. Ideally our tools will create a community of nonprofitis that are maximizing their potential through technology and are sharing best practices in using those technologies. We're just keeping it simple and adding features and services as users suggest them. And the cool part of it is, no matter how many features we add to the core system, you still pay the same low monthly fee!
