Nonprofit Information Systems was started by a nonprofit founder, so we recongnize that small and medium nonprofits have the same needs as large ones--tracking donors, grants, volunteers, and events. Yet many don't have the budget to purchase expensive systems. So instead they grow their own by using some variations of spreadsheets and single workstation databases.
